Watched my dad bike pass me today as I waited at the bus stop to go to work. It reminded me of a time back when I was in elementary school when he walked me to school while I rode my tiny pink bicycle. We didn’t have a bike lock so he had to bring home my bike for me. He could have just walked it back but instead he rode it like a baus. Everybody told me my dad was cool that day. Aww yeah.
Many have been waiting over a decade for Blizzard to release Diablo 3 and on May 14th stayed outside the doors of Bestbuy, Futureshop, and other game stores for the midnight release in hopes of experiencing the nostalgic feelings of excitement and thrill previously felt when playing D2. Unfortunately, D3 turned out to be a huge disappointment. These are the reasons why I am disappointed with this game:
1) It’s too easy. In Diablo 2, when you died you respawn in town and you lose all your equips and gold. To get your items back you have to go back to your place of death and pick up your dead body (very very challenging and sometimes annoying nut fun). In D3 however, you respawn at ‘checkpoints’ and there is no risk of dying except that you lose 10 percent of durability in your armor which can be easily repaired for like 40 gold (barely anything) by any merchant. People are finishing the game in only a few hours!
2) Our characters are no longer unique. We don’t even have to choose our own stats anymore and instead when we level they automatically go up by the same amount depending on the character type you choose. This makes it impossible for a character to surpass another with similar level and character type as us. In D2 you have skill points which pretty much forces you to be only able to specialize in a certain field. In D3, skill points are gone and instead skills unlock as you level up which allows you to change skills as often as you would like.
3) It may look better, but D3 lacks so much more content than D2 considering the amount of time needed to make it. D3 doesn’t even have the ‘Horadrics’ cube anymore (not sure if I spelt that right) where you can fuse gems, skulls and runes together to put into slots of your equipment making them more BA. The new characters that everyone were so hyped up about to play aren’t even that great either.
soo good!!
